A build or a monthly plan: which one do you need?

A build creates the foundations once and hands them over. A monthly plan runs the brand. How to tell which your business needs first.

Two ways to work with us, and the first question on the enquiry form asks which one you are after. It is worth knowing the difference before you answer, because picking the wrong one wastes a quarter.

A build

Built once, handed over properly. A build is for what has to exist before a rupee of media is spent: positioning and an identity system, a website or storefront made to be handed over, an ordering, subscription or delivery system, a launch campaign with the films and the media plan behind it. It is scoped in writing, quoted once, and it ends.

You probably need a build if a stranger cannot tell what you stand for in five seconds, if your website is the weakest thing about your brand, or if the operational side simply does not exist yet.

A monthly plan

We run the brand every month against the five numbers on the scorecard. Content planned before the month starts and produced in our own studio, performance media, community, and a report every Monday. Priced by how much of your growth we own, from the look and sound of the brand through to being your marketing department.

You probably need a monthly plan if the brand already works and the problem is that nothing compounds: good months followed by quiet ones, and no system that carries the learning forward.

Both

Common, and usually the honest answer for a brand that is being rebuilt and grown at the same time. The build creates the foundations, the plan runs them. The advantage of doing both with one team is that nothing gets handed over to someone who was not in the room when it was decided.

How to decide in one question

If we doubled your ad spend tomorrow, would it work?

If the answer is yes, you need a monthly plan: the base can carry it, and the job is to compound. If the answer is no, or you do not know, you need a build first, because spend amplifies whatever is already there.

If your brand already works, we do not insist on a build. We go straight to a monthly plan and spend the first two weeks auditing what you have.

What it costs

We don't publish prices, because the honest number depends on what your brand actually needs. Two businesses with the same monthly budget often need completely different work. Tell us what you are building and we will quote it against a written scope, so you can see what is included before committing to anything.
